Cannabis and Me!
The year was 2009 and there was just one more year left of high school. I had my first job as an assembly line worker, which I would never imagine would affect me in any way. Once I developed muscle spasms and insomnia, I just thought it would go away as time passed, but I had a hard time finding relief. Since I worked with my older brother, we would carpool to work and back home. One night, he decided to ignite a joint and offer some to me. Since I was always uneasy about the effects, I was a bit nervous but also intrigued. In an instant I felt very euphoric, but above all hungry. Since I worked at a cookie factory, I happened to have some cookies and ate all of them. I don’t remember when I fell asleep. However, I did wake up with several crumbs surrounding my bed. I was unable to identify the strain as it was purchased on the street, but the potency was still perfect for the time. The moment I realized I did not feel paranoid, anxious, or negative I knew I could try some more!! Since then, I took it upon myself to find out as much as possible on cannabis and what occurs to my body while elevated. In the process of learning more, I found out many people with serious ailments benefitted from cannabis. From young children suffering from seizures, to senior citizens battling Alzheimer’s. I could not believe the astounding changes noticed in patients treating PTSD, migraines, anxiety, insomnia, cancer, and even more serious diseases. I was able to get over my insomnia as quick as it entered my life. It became more apparent to get the energy and focus I needed for most of my activities. I dosed with Sativa
strains which tend to report uplifting effects. Now, ten years later I still use cannabis. I love how myself and other budtenders are constantly learning new things about cannabis and the research grows every day!
